The Ibis Cycles Ripmo AF. It’s fast. It’s capable. It’s metal… AF.

The Ripmo AF legend continues, bringing big-mountain capability to a rugged, aluminum package — blending long-travel confidence with trail-friendly efficiency.

With 160mm front and 150mm rear travel, dw-link suspension, and Flip chips for using a 27.5” or 29” rear wheel, it’s built for steep descents, chunky terrain, and climbs better than it should. Progressive geometry and a durable frame make it ideal for riders who push hard and want a bike that can keep up, lap after lap. Whether you’re racing enduro, exploring alpine singletrack, or sending the local lines, the Ripmo AF delivers the same legendary performance as its carbon sibling. The Ripmo AF has all of the same features as the carbon bike; in-frame storage with two bags, coil compatibility, progressive geometry, all at a more approachable price.

Every rider deserves the same great ride feel, no matter their height or proportions. We use size specific seat tube angles and suspension kinematics to bring incredible balance and speed to all size riders. Even chainstay length and bottom bracket height are tailored to each frame size.

We’ve added a third size in the middle of the bell curve to provide a fit that’s just right. With 80% of our riders falling between 5’5” and 6’0”, we introduced a new “Extra-Medium” size. The extra-medium now sits in the middle of our size range. If you are solidly a Large or XL previously, then your size remains the same.

We’ve added more adjustability with a new flip chip – now you can run 29” or 27.5”/29” mixed (MX) wheels on all sizes without compromising the geometry. The Extra Medium and larger sizes ship with 29” wheels, while the Small and Medium sizes come with MX wheels.

We continue to use the critically acclaimed dw-link suspension platform known for its efficient climbing and strong downhill performance; it sets the standard for modern mountain bikes.

Drawing on the race-proven HD6 design, the Ripmo now has a coil spring friendly progressive shock rate and shorter clevis which makes it compatible with pretty much any coil shock.

Our size-specific kinematics make sure every size bike pedals amazing while still keeping things quiet and calm on challenging trails.

Get that gear off your back and into your bike with our frame storage system. The latch operates effortlessly, even in cold, muddy conditions while wearing gloves. The door is water-resistant, rattle-free, and robust.

Ibis has crafted a set of two internal bags for your snacks, tools, or whatever. The bags are crafted from durable, and water-resistant materials, with a bright interior to help see your stored items.

Our ultra low standovers give you the ability to size your frame based on horizontal fit without worrying about vertical clearances.

*With Maxxis 29×2.4 WT tires = 748mm diameter, 27.5×2.5 WT rear tires = 708mm diameter.

Yes, the rear shock is a custom tune with lighter compression and rebound damping. The fork is a standard tune, as the stock damper has enough tuning range to match the rear. To learn more about our Traction Tune philosophy, click here.

The Ripmo AF V2 is optimized around a 160mm fork. It is compatible with 150-170mm forks.

A variety of other manufacturers offer 55mm chainline cranksets. Verify with your preferred crankset manufacturer before purchasing and installing.

Yes, the Ripmo AF V2 supports both 29” and 27.5” rear wheels. Ensure the flip chip is in the appropriate orientation for the wheel size that is installed.

Yes! Our new upper link driven suspension design supports any 230 x 60mm coil shock.

The standard shock size is 230 x 60mm. A longer stroke shock should not be used, as there is potential that the tire will rub on the saddle and seat tube. The use of a different size shock will void the frame’s warranty.
