What happens between the box and the website (about a minute)

Inventory scanning in a bike shop

Adding new products to an ecommerce store is usually where good intentions go to die. Between resizing supplier images, typing descriptions, and assigning variations, those new gloves sit on the back shelf for three weeks before anyone has time to post them online.

On Bike Co.’s Ridgeline build, inventory entry looks entirely different:

  1. Pop the tape on the box from your distributor.
  2. Open Base on your phone and scan the manufacturer UPC.
  3. Structured data populates automatically—the sizes, manufacturer colorways, and price floors lock in.
  4. Photos auto-optimize, crunching heavy galleries into lightweight web images so your site loads smoothly even on standard hosting.
  5. Tap publish. The product is on your floor inventory and active on your Ridgeline storefront in under a minute.

Because Base handles faceted filtering cleanly, colors like “Forest Green,” “Olive,” and “Sage” automatically organize under a clean “Green” filter without manual sorting.

We’re taking this further on the roadmap: direct distributor data connections (QBP, BTI, etc.) are in development to auto-enrich product specs and MAP floors on the fly. You shouldn’t need a full-time web manager just to sell what’s sitting on your showroom floor.
